As Detective Tze-Wei leads an assault case and attempts to protect Nicole, a battered and harassed sex worker, elsewhere on the force, rookie Chia-Hao lies to their chief about the status of a pressing case.

After an over-the-top interrogation of Nicole's stalker, Tze-Wei is relegated to desk duty, while the rest of her team investigates a murder.

Chia-Hao teams up with Tze-Wei to bring in a suspect after revealing his own connection to Nicole, while Chi-Hsiao is hit with an assassination attempt amid his re-election campaign; meanwhile, a new friendship blooms between Tze-Wei and Ching-Yao.

After Tze-Wei is assigned to Chi-Hsiao's security detail, they find a surprising connection; meanwhile, Chi-Hsiao is approached by Jia-Jia with a problem.

When the body in the suitcase is identified, Chi-Hsiao takes the news especially hard, and Chia-Hao is triggered by a painful memory, which inspires him to finally request a transfer to the coveted Crime Investigation Department.

After Tze-Wei is thrown off the murder case for pursuing the Chief Prosecutor's son, her superior-ranking ally, Lio-Li, promises to feed her information; when Chi-Hsiao is blackmailed by a political rival, he must rein in the rest of team.
