Major Pike, an American intelligence agent, is drugged and captured by Nazis while on a mission in Lisbon. They try to fool him into believing that the war is over and he is wounded but safe in an American hospital, so he will reveal the plans for the Allied invasion. His vision blurred by eyedrops administered by his nurse, he believes what he is told at first, although he senses something wrong.
