Central Station
Dora makes a living in the busy halls of Rio's main train station. The former teacher writes letters for the city's many illiterate people. She sends some letters, others she keeps in the drawer. When one of her customers dies in an accident, she decides to take care of the orphaned son. Surprised by the unexpected feelings of motherhood, she sets herself the goal of bringing Josue to his father in the inaccessible northeast of Brazil.
