Monte Walsh is a cowboy in 1890s Wyoming, who finds calls for his expertise waning, as civilisation advances west. Should he head out for the last remaining wide open spaces, or stay with his sweetheart and take a job with the travelling Wild West show run by Colonel Wilson?
