A tough cop must escort a key witness to trial in another state, but there are heavily armed gangsters and a contingent of corrupt cops who do not want the woman, a hooker, to testify, and when the lawman calls his boss for back-up, he finds himself under fire not only from the Mob but the Las Vegas police force as well.
