Carla's spiritual mentor, flamboyant parapsychic Madame Lazora returns to town. The bad news is that Lazora wants to retire from the business. The worse news is that she wants Carla to be her successor.

Carla's daughter, 18-year-old Serafina, announces that she is pregnant and wants to marry the father, a retired police officer living off disability who she loves. Carla gets nervous when her ex-husband and his wife show up at the wedding.
