Lux throws a party in Baze's flat in an effort to impress the high school quarterback, Jones and his friends and ease her transition into her new school. Elsewhere, Cate worries that her relationship with Lux will never measure up to the bond Lux has so easily made with Baze.

When Baze tells his parents about Lux, they insist on having her over for dinner so they can meet her and Cate properly. Cate reluctantly agrees to go but is annoyed when her overbearing mother and neurotic sister show up unexpectedly. Meanwhile, when Cate hears about a gang fight at Lux's school, she immediately decides to have Lux transferred to her and Baze's old school.

Lux gets suspended from school, leaving Cate to plead with Principal Dugan to re-consider. Will he change his mind? Elsewhere, Baze is insulted by Cate and Ryan's plans to host a radio event at a bar on the same street as his bar.
