Hank's script needs to be rewritten, Julia's new boss offers career advice, and Charlie and Marcy consider Stu's offer.

Hank has an intimate notes session with `Santa Monica Cop's' female lead, Amy Taylor Walsh, while the male lead, Hashtag Black, has his eyes on Julia. As Charlie tries to manage Goldie, his head-case client, Stu makes him an offer.

Hank gets caught off guard during a visit to Levon's apartment. Charlie and Marcy attempt to work through Charlie's private issues. Charlie then accompanies Hank to his first day as a writer on `Santa Monica Cop'.

Hank receives his first episode assignment and needs to come up with story ideas for `Santa Monica Cop', while Karen prepares to throw in the towel and Levon has his first day at work.

Hank has problems with Hashtag Black on `Santa Monica Cop', Julia is a distraction, Levon has an opportunity, and Stu's offer causes strife.

The ratings are in for `Santa Monica Cop' - and Hank may soon be out of a job, which sends Charlie reeling. With the revenue stream drying up Marcy decides to accept Stu's offer. Karen arrives with a special guest: Becca, who makes an announcement.
