Big Sam sends a couple of his men to change the mind of the comedian Joey Bishop (who looks remarkably like Joey Barnes) whose schedule is too full to open an act.

The city is putting a highway extension through the Barnes' neighbourhood and everyone must move. Joey convinces the neighbours to have their homes moved to new lots, a plan the city approves - as long as they do so within 30 days.
