Comedian Griff Rhys Jones is a comedian and actor who is also the co-founder of TalkBack Productions. Jones attended Conifers Primary School and then Cambridge, where he was a member of the prestigious Cambridge Footlights Club. He first appeared on television in the sketch comedy show "Not the Nine O'Clock News," which marked his initial collaboration with Mel Smith. The pair created TalkBack Productions, the successful television production company. In 1984, Smith and Jones started their own television comedy sketch show, "Alas Smith and Jones," a take-off on the title of the American show "Alias Smith and Jones," and the team also appeared in the sci-fi comedy film "Morons from Outer Space." In 1992, Jones played the role of Touchstone in a film adaptation of Shakespeare's "As You Like It," and in the early 1990s, Jones provided the voices for a series of short cartoons called "Funnybones." He has continued to work with Smith and did a review of their former sketches with "The Smith and Jones Sketchbook." Jones published an autobiography entitled "Semi-Detached in" in 2006. Jones also the president of the Civic Voice, a charitable organization in England.
