Jamison Newlander

In 1987, Newlander landed a role in "The Lost Boys," a horror film about brothers Michael and Sam Emerson (Jason Patric and Haim) who move to a sleepy surfer town in California and ended up fighting a gang of teenage vampires. The classic film also launched the career of Kiefer Sutherland, who delivered a memorable performance as the leader of the hard-partying, teen bloodsuckers called the "lost boys." Newlander played Alan Frog, a paramilitary teen who owns a comic book store with his brother, Edgar (Feldman). As one half of the vampire-hunting duo, Newlander's character was grim and more reserved than his brother, but he managed to steal some of the spotlight with his witty dialogue and geeky adolescent bravado. In 2008, Newlander appeared in one of the alternative endings for the direct-to-DVD sequel, "Lost Boys: The Tribe," but his scenes were deleted. He reprised his Alan Frog role in the DVD release of the "Lost Boys: The Thirst" (2010), which reunited him with Feldman, and revolved around the blood-sucking adventures of the infamous Frog brothers.
