Michael Yama

Throughout his entertainment career as an accomplished actor, Michael Yama graced the silver screen many times. Yama started his acting career landing roles in such films as the comedy sequel "The Bad News Bears Go to Japan" (1978) with Tony Curtis, the comedy "Deal of the Century" (1983) with Chevy Chase and "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" (1984). He also appeared in the Tom Hanks comedy "Bachelor Party" (1984), the Nick Nolte dramatic adaptation "Down and Out in Beverly Hills" (1986) and the action movie "Number One With a Bullet" (1987) with Robert Carradine. He kept working in film throughout the nineties, starring in "Bloodfist V: Human Target" (1994) with Don "The Dragon" Wilson and the Julia Sweeney comedy adaptation "It's Pat" (1994). He also worked in television around this time, including a part on "Sisters" (1990-96). In his more recent career, he continued to act in "Molly" (1999) with Elisabeth Shue, "Now Chinatown" (2001) and the Adam Sandler smash hit comedy "Click" (2006). Yama's distinctive voice can be heard on "Dr. Strange" (2007) with Bryce Johnson. Most recently, Yama acted in the comedic drama "I'll See You In My Dreams" (2015) with Blythe Danner. Michael Yama died on July 30, 2020 at the age of 76.
