As the school year begins, Marissa's classmates poke fun at her after hearing about her overdose in Mexico. She has broken up with Luke as a result of his cheating, but still feels torn. When Ryan tries out for the soccer team, he learns that the captain is none other than Marissa's ex-boyfriend. A crunching tackle on Luke then lands Ryan in trouble with Sandy and the coach.
