Sofia Carson

Years of training in dance and vocals paid off for singer and actress Sofia Carson in 2015 when she was cast as the mean-spirited (but glamorous) Evie, daughter of the "Snow White" Queen, in the blockbuster Disney Channel Original Movie "Descendants" (2015). Born Sofia Daccarett Char in Boca Raton, Florida, Carson was the daughter of Colombia parents who began her training in dance and musical theater from a very early age. Carson's stage career was launched in 2001 with a performance in "The Wizard of Oz" at a Miami theater, and she continued her dance and vocal training throughout her adolescence and teenaged years while also competing in numerous talent shows. After graduating from Carrolton School in Miami, Carson was signed as a singer-songwriter to BMI Records in 2012, and made her acting debut in a episode of the Disney Channel series "Austin & Ally" (2011-16). Her breakthrough screen and pop music project came two years later when she was cast as Evie, the daughter of the evil Queen from "Snow White" (1937), in the Disney Channel Original Movie "Descendants." A sizable ratings hit, the movie also generated a chart-topping soundtrack album; one single, "Rotten to the Core," featuring Carson with castmates Cameron Boyce, Booboo Stewart and Dove Cameron, reached No. 38 on the Billboard singles chart, while a remix rose to No. 7 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 singles list. The success of the movie and soundtrack led to Carson's co-starring role in "Further Adventures in Babysitting" (2016), a Disney Channel Original Movie based on the 1987 theatrical comedy "Adventures in Babysitting," and a move to the Hollywood Records roster.
