Tom Cullen

Born in Aberystwyth, Wales, Tom Cullen attended the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama as well as the Central School of Speech and Drama, earning a degree in acting. He made a strong impression in his first starring role, which came in the film "Weekend" (2011), playing a lonely lifeguard who starts a relationship with a younger man, including a British Independent Film Award for Most Promising Newcomer. He was a supporting series regular on the historical drama/romance "World Without End" (Channel 4, 2012), before landing his highest profile role to date, playing suitor to Lady Mary Grantham on season 4 of the hit series "Downton Abbey" (PBS, 2010-15). After another regular supporting role on the mini-series "The Trials of Jimmy Rose" (ITV, 2015), Cullen earned his first series lead role, on the sci-fi/mystery "The Five" (Sky 1, 2016). In 2017, he was set for two more high profile roles, playing Guy Fawkes on the BBC One historical mini-series "Gunpowder" as well as one of the embattled Knights Templar at the center of the series "Knightfall" (History 2017-).
