Investigative journalist Donal MacIntyre uncovers crime-ridden and corrupt towns.
EPISODE 1
Prague
Donal MacIntyre goes to Prague, a popular destination for British tourists, to expose the links between prostitution and the Russian Mafia. Behind the scenes of the strip clubs and brothels of this beautiful city, young women from ex-Soviet states are being exploited, enslaved and traded by ruthless and violent traffickers. He meets journalists, former police officers and tourists.
EPISODE 2
Paris
Donal is in Paris, a city on the edge, somewhere a conflict can occur without warning. A place where violent crime is nearly three times the national average and where anyone can get caught in the mayhem.
EPISODE 3
Odessa
The latest stop on Donal MacIntyre's tour of the world's criminal hot spots is the Black Sea port of Odessa in the Ukraine. Tourism is increasingly important to this historic city, but MacIntyre exposes the growth of the illegal arms trade as he meets British gangs seeking opportunities to network with criminal organisations as they shop for guns and ammunition.
EPISODE 4
Dublin
Donal MacIntyre completes his series exploring the criminal underbelly of various popular cities and tourist destinations by winding up his global expedition in Dublin.
EPISODE 5
Istanbul
Istanbul has long been regarded as a gateway to Europe from the east and, as Donal MacIntyre reports, this remains the case when it comes to the movement of heroin shipments. An estimated four fifths of the drug imported into Britain flows through the Turkish city and into western Europe via the so-called `Balkan Route'.
EPISODE 6
Cape Town
On this occasion Donal travels to the Cape Flats, 15 miles from Cape Town, to witness the living conditions for up to a million people whose existence is blighted by endemic gang warfare. As the battle for turf rages, the gangs are becoming more organised in their criminal enterprises which include child prostitution, car jacking and armed robbery.
