Argentinian Irene needs to go to Rio de Janeiro to fulfil her late mother's last wish. Barred from the top of Christ the Redeemer, she receives help from Francisco and Graciela. Irene learns and tries to use the carioca way to circumvent the rules of the place.
Matthias, the German conductor, is about to take over as head conductor of an orchestra and has to perform in Rio de Janeiro. His strict attitude clashes with that of Renata, a local producer. After a serious mistake, he receives help from Francisco.
Syrian Nabil needs to raise money to save his family from the war. The refugee sells Arab snacks on the beach and is shocked by the customs. When he meets Francisco, the carioca explains the local customs to him in order to increase his sales.

Angolan writer Karima moves to Rio de Janeiro with her family. She's excited to be writing in Brazil, but her son Agostinho doesn't take the sudden change well. Everything seems to get worse when the racism of the local elite gets to them.
With no job and no money, Francisco from Rio accepts an invitation to live as a musician in Lisbon. But it seems that forces of fate are trying to stop him travelling. Francisco helps the people he meets and uses his charm to face his dilemmas.
