Captain Picard and his crew are sent to the planet Romulus, where a new leader, Shinzon, wishes to make peace with the Federation. Upon arriving at the planet, Picard discovers Shinzon's plan is to destroy the Enterprise with his powerful craft the Scimitar and then advance on a defenceless Earth. Picard must use all his cunning to outwit his adversary but faces an obstacle: Shizon is a younger clone of himself.
