Tough cop Joe Bomowski thinks he knows everything about policing the Los Angeles streets, but his life is thrown into turmoil when his mother comes to visit and makes it clear that she knows best about his appearance, his job and his love life. When his mother witnesses a murder, she refuses to help the police unless her son is assigned to the case - and suddenly Joe finds himself with his mother as a partner.
