When the planet Mongo threatens to collide with Earth, athlete Flash Gordon and Dale Arden join Dr Alexis Zarkov on a trip to Mongo. When they arrive on Mongo, they meet the planet's emperor, Ming the Merciless, who wants to destroy the Earth.
