Dick Anthony Williams

Tony Award-winning stage actor Dick Anthony Williams never quite managed to match the power of his theater career on film and TV. But he has been able to land several series regular roles along the way, starting with the 1985-1986 ABC show "Our Family Honor," a "Goodfellas"-like drama in which Williams played a cop facing off against a Mafia family governed by Ray Liotta's Ed Santini. Williams was also a cop the following TV season on "Heart of the City," centered on the efforts of one single-parent force member, played by Robert Desiderio, to raise his two children. The character's daughter was played by a young Christina Applegate. In '91, Williams landed a regular role on yet another ABC-TV offering, "Homefront," set in the small Ohio town of River Run right after World War II. The show was the most well received of Williams's three ABC series efforts, garnering an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Drama Series.
