Lynne Marta

Character actress and singer Lynne Marta has numerous credits to her name but is probably best known for her role as Lulu Warnicker in the 1984 film "Footloose." Her career began in the '60s with small guest-starring roles and a job as a regular supporting player on the anthology show "Love, American Style." Her first film role was a typically small supporting part in the 1971 drama "Red Sky at Morning." Other early '70s film roles came alongside Clint Eastwood in the John Sturges Western "Joe Kidd" and as the wife of a famous race car driver in "43: The Richard Petty Story." Her TV appearances included multiple roles on the detective show "Cannon," the hospital drama "Medical Center," and the Buddy Ebsen mystery "Barnaby Jones." In addition to several parts on the cop show "Starsky and Hutch," she composed and sang the song "Nobody Loves You Quite Like You Do" for a 1978 episode. She also performed on the soundtrack of "43: The Richard Petty Story," "Charlie's Angels," and the TV movie "Starcrossed." She continued making TV appearances throughout the '80s and '90s in movies like the TV movie "Sleeping with the Devil" and programs like the soap "Days of Our Lives." Besides "Footloose," she had a role in the 1990 comedy "3 Men and a Little Lady" and the thriller "Time of Fear" in 2002. Lynne Marta died on January 11, 2024 in Los Angeles, CA at the age of 78.
