Tom DeCerchio

Rising director who came out of TV commercials, to helm "Celtic Pride," the 1996 comedy which starred Daniel Stern, Damon Wayans and Dan Aykroyd in the story of two die-hard Boston basketball fans who kidnap the star player of an opposing team. Tom DeCerchio first won notice for his commercial spots plugging Bud Light beer, Snapple Beverages, and the anti-smoking campaign he handled for the California Department of Health Services. His first short film, "Nunzio's Second Cousin," starred Vincent D'Onofrio as a gay cop who brings a gay basher for dinner at the home of his mother (Eileen Brennan). The film was well received at film festivals when it debuted in 1994. DeCerchio has also written unproduced screenplays for Renny Harlin, Disney, and John McTiernan.
