Vibhavari, a girl from a poor family based in Varanasi, manages to get a job in Mumbai. She's is not only able to send money home, but also has her sister Subhavari obtain a Masters Degree. Subhavari also re-locates to Mumbai, where she falls in love with Vivaan. Their marriage is planned in Varanasi, but then Subhavari finds out that her sister will not be attending it and can never return home ever again.
