Medical students Avinash and Neela fall in love, but ashamed of his poor background, Avinash demands that Neela marry someone who can provide her with a comfortable lifestyle. Eventually Neela marries a rich businessman, but when he finds out that she is in love with Avinash, he attempts suicide, which subsequently puts Neela in jail.
