Following the lives of five new and inexperienced police recruits in their mid-20s who trained together and must now learn at first hand the hardest kind of policing there is: as big-city crime-fighters. Andy faces a volatile gunman when the high-risk takedown of a suspect does not go as planned.

Andy and Chris unwittingly endanger a huge drug bust, and Andy tries to rectify the situation by accompanying Swarek on an undercover operation, until a change in plans puts both their lives in danger.

Tension rises between Andy and Swarek, but they put aside their feelings while hunting for an escaped prisoner. Meanwhile, Chris and Traci try to reconstruct the missing notes of a crucial court case, and Dov and Gail investigate a mysterious amnesiac.

Andy's father, a former policeman, admits he may have committed a serious crime during an alcohol-induced blackout, and she is left in a difficult position after uncovering evidence that could send her dad to jail.
