Meanwhile, Elena engages in a power struggle with Rebekah until Rebekah reveals some of her family's ancient secrets and the violent past she shares with Klaus and Elijah. Elsewhere, Damon uses a reckless new approach as he attempts to make a breakthrough with Stefan, and they are both surprised by the arrival of an unlikely ally.
