Twelve hopeful chefs remain as the Tournament of Champions qualifier rounds continue with two more one-on-one battles. The chef who can win over a panel of TOC champs in a blind taste test will get the opportunity to compete in the main tournament.

Host Guy Fieri kicks off the biggest and most intense competition in the culinary world. Top-scoring chefs from last year are back, and a handful of newcomers with the potential to win it all are stepping into the arena for the first time.

The junior chefs are asked to create meals their mums would love that will also impress judges Maneet Chauhan, Cooking Channel's Haylie Duff and actress Alison Sweeney.

The junior chefs show kindness and help each other out, but someone must still be chopped by a judging panel featuring Maneet Chauhan, actor Rico Rodriguez and Fabio Viviani.

Some cheese and a spreadable protein are part of the round one challenge. A strange pink pickle keeps the kids on their toes in the entrée round, and in the dessert round, a marshmallow mishap makes the judges want to help.
