Breaking Point: High Altitude Warfare School

Set against the backdrop of a stunning Himalayan landscape, soldiers at the High Altitude Warfare School undergo a rigorous nine-week course.

The young and enthusiastic trainees are tasked with climbing the steep cliffs around HAWS. It's a whirlwind couple of weeks as they struggle to traverse mountain edges and cracks.

The men head to a glacier at the height of 12,000-feet and must acclimate to the weather at that altitude. Then they participate in a training exercise by trekking over mountains and glacial fields before dislodging an enemy.

The trainees have now transformed into hardened mountain warriors. The final hurdles include intense ice-craft training sessions, crevasse rescue drills, fighting on glaciers and scaling a glacier at the height of 18,000-feet.
