Deputy

Following the sudden death of the Los Angeles sheriff, his longest-serving mounted deputy is appointed sheriff until elections can be held.

As Bill struggles to come to terms with the responsibilities of being a sheriff, a criminal with whom he has a personal connection resurfaces.

After a mysterious shooting leaves one of their own injured, Bill and the team go out on a mission to find the shooter. When Undersheriff London tries to take control of the department, Bill reminds him who is in charge.

During a raid on a human trafficking ring, Bill runs into an old informant who is in trouble. Charlie returns from leave and is partnered with Joseph.

When Joseph's childhood friend is wrongfully accused by the LAPD, he involves Bill in his mission to find the truth. Paula is put in a tough position when her hospital puts her in charge of making staff cuts in order to meet its budget requirements.

While on duty at the county jail, Paula and her staff are taken hostage by an inmate and his psychotic girlfriend.
