Vitthal and his labour union, who work at the Singhania mill, find out that Mr Singhania has sold the mill to Sahil Kapoor and the mill may not reopen. Seven months pregnant Kamla resigns from her school attendant job and takes the job of a domestic help at Sahil Kapoor, the mill owner’s house. On the first day of the job, Sahil’s wife Neetu goes into labour. While Vitthal and his union protest against Sahil, Kamla takes Neetu to the hospital for her delivery.

Vitthal brings Kamla home in an unconscious state. While Neetu gives birth to a baby girl in the hospital, Kamla delivers a premature baby girl in the house itself. Vitthal names his daughter Kalpana. Neetu faces complications during her delivery and fails to nurse her child. Hence, Sahil takes his infant child to Kamla’s house and request Kamla to feed the baby her milk. Kamla agrees and nurses both the babies.

Kamla visits Neetu and her daughter. Meanwhile, Vitthal and his union labourers meet Sahil to discuss issues regarding the mill. Neetu finds Kamla nursing her baby in the baby’s room and gets shocked. Initially, she insults Kamla. But, later, she brings Kamla back and requests her to nurse her baby regularly, in return for money. But Kamla refuses the money and agrees to do it for free. Vitthal gets angry on knowing that Kamla nursed Sahil’s child.
