Joy Baba Lokenath

As promised, Ramnarayan reaches the zamindar's place to perform the Janmashtami puja. But while chanting the mantras, a supernatural experience stupefies him. Later, when he learns that his wife Kamala is experiencing labour pain, he rushes home. Thereafter, his path is blocked by a magical snake which guides him to a Shiva temple where he meets his Gurudev. Following this, Ramnarayan reaches home to learn that Kamala has given birth to a boy with a distinct pattern of hair on his head.

Ramnarayan is surprised to see clouds forming the shape of om when he holds Lokenath in his arms. He realises that Kamala has given birth to a child with superhuman abilities. Meanwhile, Roy's aunt asks him to adopt a boy child as he is without an heir. However, his sister fumes after hearing this as she had hoped that her son will get to be the next zamindar. The next day, Gurudev visits Ramnarayan and expresses his wish to see Lokenath. When he sees the baby, he bows down in reverence.

Ramnarayan and Gurudev discuss the supernatural happenings post the birth of the baby boy. Later, Gurudev conveys that he will be able to fulfil his promise to Trinath since Lokenath is born with his blessings. Overhearing this, Kamala is scared to recount Ramnarayan’s promise of making one of his children a sannyasi. Meanwhile, villagers arrive to see the holy child. Everyone is surprised when after touching Lokenath, a blind old lady gets her eyesight back.

Madhav attempts to cut off Lokenath’s tresses, but is stopped by a snake. However, when Gouri arrives, he sees a crown flower garland in place of the snake. Following this, Ramnarayan arranges for Lokenath’s 'choysasthi' but meagre arrangements concern him. When Madhav brings several Brahmans without notice, he worries what to feed them. Thereafter, he is shocked to see a huge platter in the kitchen and marvels at the magic. He also spots bael leaves atop each pot.

Ramnarayan and Kamala feel astounded to find food for so many Brahmans. At home, Madhav is informed that the ash in the food pan miraculously turned into rice. Later, an old man arrives at Ramnarayan's place and informs him that he has been sent there to see an angel. However, Ramnarayan denies having seen an angel in his house and provides food to the old man. After this, Madhav brings a few Brahmans home to protest against Ramnarayan for feeding food to the old man.

Madhav along with other Brahmins declare Ramnarayan an outcast as he had attended to a Muslim guest. However, Gurudev mentions that humanity is the biggest religion. He also says that within six months, everyone will come to know that the baby is a Lord Shiva incarnate. Later, Gurudev also declares a common date for the naming ceremonies of Ramnarayan and Balaram’s sons. Thereafter, when Madhav’s man enters Ramnarayan’s house to cut Lokenath’s hair, he spots a snake beside the child.
