After many struggles, Subedar Ramji Satpal's wife gives birth to a son, who they name Bhim. Ramji is stunned when he receives a letter from the British government. A few years later, during an outing with Ramji, Bhim wonders about people's behaviour towards them. Later, Bhim takes a vow.

At his new place, people insult Ramji for his caste. Bhim's devotion for education, gives Ramji hope for a bright future. A few children make Bhim retrieve their ball from a sewer under the pretext of letting him play. At school, Bhim gets upset when his teacher asks him to sit outside of the class.

Ramji threatens to lodge a police complaint against the people who misbehaved with his children. Meanwhile, Bhim very cleverly obtains permission to enter the classroom. Elsewhere, a shop owner refuses to hire Ramji on the basis of his caste. Later, Bhim gets disturbed by the incident at school.

Mahanayaka Dr B R Ambedkar is a Kannada show. The story is based on the life of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar and his fight to eradicate the caste discrimination system. Bhim challenges Sethji and the others who try to get him kicked out of the school. Further, a teacher praises Bhim in front of Ramji for his distinctive character and talent. An adamant Ramji refuses to accept the condition put forth by Sethji. Later, an unwell Bhimabai loses consciousness.

Bhim is elated when Bhimabai regains consciousness. He faints when his teacher asks him to leave from the class for not doing his homework. Elsewhere, Ramji's friend, Puranjan, helps him get a job. Meanwhile, Bhimabai decides to sell her jewellery. Later, Ramji helps Bhim study in the dark.
