MAO

Nanoka is an attuned adolescent; so when a covered shopping arcade beckons, a strange world awaits.

After an accident she experienced in her first year of elementary school, Nanoka recalls seeing a monster and realizes that the world connected to the gate of the Fifth Street shopping alley is actually from the Taisho era. Meanwhile, Mao begins investigating the “headless bodies incident,” which appears to be connected to the Byoki that cursed him.

Since Nanoka survives even after coming into contact with Mao's the sword of Hagunsei, the latter guesses that she may have been cursed after being exposed to Byoki's blood in childhood. Nanoka then returns to the modern era and starts looking into the accident from eight years earlier.
