A few women go to Kanakaratnam’s house and tattle about her extreme miserliness. Lakkamamba’s aunt arrives at the house. Kanakaratnam’s second son, Govind, proposes to a girl and gets rejected.

Kanakaratnam crams her family members into a car. When the car ends up hitting Geetha’s cycle, Kanakaratnam is compelled to compensate her. Kanakaratnam’s sons accidentally go to Natarajan’s house.

Kanakaratnam’s sons realise that they’ve come to the wrong address. Purnima gets annoyed when the suitor’s family arrives. Kanakaratnam’s family meets Govind’s prospective bride, Anandi’s family.

On Purnima’s suggestion, the suitor agrees to marry Geetha, which angers Natarajan. Govind scares Anandi and makes her cancel the marriage alliance. Later, a furious Kanakaratnam confronts Govind.

As Geetha’s family members feel dejected, Geetha feeds them, and Natarajan gets emotional. Govind tells his brothers that he loves Geetha and will marry her, while Geetha decides to never get married.

Kanakaratnam lies to Govind and takes him out to see a girl. When Govind chases a debtor, he spots Geetha in a bus and follows her. When he asks her for her name, she tricks him and escapes.
