Redemption

When the corpse of young Ettore Frediani is found by the Tiber in Rome, his death is assumed to have been suicide. His ex-cop father, Valerio, must put aside his pain and shame to find the truth about his son's death.

Valerio investigates to find out who was on duty the night of Ettore's death, but clashes with the new Chief Commissioner. Thanks to Luigi, Valerio discovers that the phone call from the important witness has disappeared.

Valerio wants to find out how his son died, and examines Ettore's computer. However, a witness provides the decisive clue for Valerio that his colleague Sara was able to find.

On the banks of the Tiber, Valerio find Ettore's shoe, which he immediately has examined. It turns out that Ettore is not on the Tiber, but in a quarry in Tivoli, leading to Valerio to wonder what he was doing there.

Whilst breaking into the offices of PGS, the private security company that owns the vehicle that dumped Ettore's body on the Tiber embankment, Valerio identifies those who could be the material perpetrators of the murder.

Valerio and Sara find out what happened on the day of Ettore's accident and discover that the boy was on his way to Rieti to help the Senegalese Moussa and his family, who were allocated a council house but were bullied out by the local underworld.
