A minister, Prataprao Gaikwad, arrives at his village with his younger son, Suraj, who is also known as Sunny. Sunny's wife, Nandita, is an arrogant lady. Nandita's servant, Chanda, hates Godakka, a sincere servant in the Gaikwad house. Prataprao's elder son, Ranvijay, who is known as Rana, is a wrestler and follows celibacy. The village school principal, Mahajan, chides Anjali, a teacher, for arriving late to greet Prataprao. Nandita tries to stop Anjali from welcoming Prataprao in his house.

Nandita tries to stop Anjali from welcoming Prataprao inside his house. Prataprao allows Anjali to welcome him, which offends Nandita. Mahajan asks Anjali to apologise to Nandita. On Nandita's orders, Chanda asks Mahajan and Anjali to wait near the Gaikwad house. Prataprao realises that Nandita made Anjali wait near the Gaikwad house for the whole day. He asks Nandita to apologise to Anjali. Nandita apologises to Anjali and tells her that she too will make Anjali apologise to her.

An inebriated Sunny arrives home. Prataprao asks Rana to consider getting married. Nandita informs Sunny about being insulted. She urges Sunny to ask Prataprao the reason for insulting her. Nandita decides to leave her house as Sunny fails to speak to Prataprao about her humiliation. Rana apologises to Nandita for being the reason for her discomfort. He promises Nandita that she will always be respected in their house. Nandita asks Rana to get the gold chain that Prataprao gave to Anjali.

Mahajan chides Anjali for advising him to be lenient towards the students. Narsingh, Rana's trainer, encourages him to win 'Hind Kesri', a prestigious wrestling competition. Rana thinks about Anjali during his training session. Prataprao and Sunny leave the village for some work. Nandita reminds Rana to get the gold chain back from Anjali. Rana arrives near the school where Anjali teaches and thinks of a way to meet her. However, he runs away when Anjali sees him.

Chanda and Nandita fail to learn from Godakka the reason Prataprao and Sunny went out of the village. Nandita tells Godakka that Rana has sworn not to eat food until he gets the chain from Anjali. Chanda comes to the field and reminds Rana of the promise he made to Nandita. Rana follows Anjali and asks her about the gold chain. However, Rana leaves before Anjali gets the chain from her house. Later, Rana gives Anjali two tractors filled with sugarcane in return for the gold chain.

Rana feels happy about getting the chain back from Anjali. Anjali distributes some of the sugarcane to the students of the school she works at. Chanda tells Nandita that two tractors of sugarcane did not reach their factory. Rana surprises Chanda and Nandita by giving the chain to Nandita. Anjali decides to return the sugarcane to Rana. Rana's friend, Barkat, tells Anjali about Rana's whereabouts. Later, Anjali reaches the wrestling court where Rana trains.
