Gianni is a Roman taxi driver living a mundane existence with his wife and two kids. He dreams of winning the lottery in order to transform his bland life as he is unable to do so himself. Therefore, when a wealthy couple, departing for a week in the Maldives, leave the keys to their dreamy villa in his cab, Gianni jumps at the opportunity, moving himself into both the villa – and its owner’s life. The experience awakens novel feelings within Gianni, culminating in an unexpected encounter with Lola, a dream girl who believes in him and turns his world around. Gianni becomes a different man and begins to lead a whole new life with Lola, but reality will soon catch up with him once the villa's true owners return from their week-long holiday.
