Actor and producer Alessandro Nivola will next be seen starring opposite Russell Crowe, Aaron Taylor Johnson, and Ariana DeBose in JC Chandor’s Marvel feature KRAVEN THE HUNTER, and opposite Adrien Brody in Brady Corbet’s feature THE BRUTALIST. He will also star in the upcoming DOWNTON ABBEY feature opposite Paul Giamatti, and joins Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore in Pedro Almodóvar’s first English Language feature THE ROOM NEXT DOOR. Notable credits include THE MANY SAINTS OF NEWARK, David O. Russell’s AMSTERDAM and AMERICAN HUSTLE (SAG Ensemble Award), Barry Levinson’s WIZARD OF LIES, Lisa Cholodenko’s LAUREL CANYON (Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor) Ava Duvernay’s SELMA, John Woo’s FACE/OFF, Sebastian Lelio’s DISOBEDIENCE opposite Rachel Weisz for which he won a British Independent Film Award (BIFA), THE ART OF SELF DEFENSE, and JUNEBUG opposite Amy Adams. Other projects include COCO BEFORE CHANEL, A MOST VIOLENT YEAR, THE NEON DEMON, MANSFIELD PARK, BOSTON STRANGLER, THE RED SEA DIVING RESORT, and JURASSIC PARK 3. In 2017 he won the Tribeca Film Festival Best Actor Award for ONE PERCENT MORE HUMID opposite Juno Temple. On Broadway, Nivola received a Tony and an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination for his performance opposite Bradley Cooper in THE ELEPHANT MAN and a Drama Desk Award nomination for A MONTH IN THE COUNTRY opposite Helen Mirren. Growing up in rural Vermont and graduating from Yale University, Nivola now resides in New York with his family.
