Aubrey Anderson-Emmons

When the producers of "Modern Family" (ABC 2009-) announced after the second season that the role of the infant Lily Tucker-Pritchett would be recast with a slightly older child, some online fans of the show were displeased. Not only did twins Ella and Jaden Hiller have their own fans, fond of their serenely deadpan facial expressions, but it was feared that an excessively cute child -- such as Michelle Tanner on "Full House" (ABC 1987-1995), as played by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen -- would change the show's signature sweet-and-sour dynamic. They need not have feared: the four-year-old Anderson-Emmons turned Lily into an opinionated and often sarcastic toddler with a knack for effortlessly manipulating both of her adoptive fathers, Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cameron (Eric Stonestreet). Aubrey Frances Anderson-Emmons was born in Santa Monica, CA, to stand-up comedian Amy Anderson and producer Kent Emmons, who at the time were working together on a syndicated radio program called "National Lampoon's Comedy Countdown." A six-month-old Aubrey made her comedy debut in a YouTube sketch her mother wrote and starred in called "The Sweatshop" that parodied "The Office" (NBC 2005-2013). Her role in "Modern Family" was her television debut.
