The twins are finding it hard to make friends at their new school, but do get on with the school geeks, Max and Tapeworm. When the rest of the kids find out Zack and Cody live in the hotel they suddenly want to hang out with them, but things get out of hand and the twins have to put a stop to it. They decide Max and Tapeworm are their only genuine new friends.

Zack helps his basketball team win an important game. London's shopping addiction gets out of hand, and Maddie tries to help her conquer it.

Zack failed the maths test so can't go to camp with Cody. Zack convinces himself Cody's homesick and gets learner driver London to drive him to camp. Cody's fine but Zack and London are in trouble.

There's trouble brewing as the Battle of the Bands approaches. Zack and Cody's band ends up splitting, while London buys a place in Maddie's group, with disastrous consequences. Will any of them get it together in time for the competition?
