The prison escape drama returns for a second season. Michael and the other escapees have to make a run for it after the plane leaves without them, as a new enemy begins to close in on the missing men.

Lincoln worries about Michael's sanity while Michael is having trouble remembering some parts of the prison schematics, and Sucre has to conceal the hole in the guard's break room.

The escapees and Dr Tancredi are shocked when they learn the identity of Michael's visitor, who brings with her a very important piece of the escape plan.

Tensions mount after Lincoln warns Michael that someone in the group will have to remain behind, Michael makes progress in reaching the infirmary, and Abruzzi threatens to kill T-Bag if he doesn't drop out of the group.

Sara considers whether she should help Michael with his plan, Michael betrays Warden Pope, and Veronica finds evidence that points her to Montana, but realises that her closest ally may actually be her greatest enemy.
