S4, E3: Hakon von Enke, a retired high-ranking Swedish naval officer, vanishes during his daily walk in a forest one morning. Hakon is Linda's father-in-law so when Wallander is approached by his distressed daughter, he can't help but investigate further. From talking to Hakon's old friend, Norlander, Wallander learns about a submarine incident in 1980 where there were rumours of Russian submarines trespassing in Swedish waters that were never exposed. Hakon had become fixated on this cover-up. Had he ruffled the wrong feathers? Is there a chance he was murdered for speaking out?
