After his only son’s death, Tatsuya, a middle-aged divorcee, gets forced to confront his fate to save his family name and ancestral line. Tatsuya’s daughter, Yuko, cannot help but feel responsible for her family’s survival despite her resistance to the traditional mind. The only solution is for either Tatsuya to remarry and have a son or Yuko to marry a man who can take her family’s surname as Mukoyoshi.
