Antoine and Antoinette

In Paris, Antoinette (Claire Maffei) happily marries her boyfriend, Antoine Moulin (Roger Pigaut), even realizing that they are destined for a life of poverty. Although Antoinette works as a shop clerk and Antoine as a typographer, the couple live in a small cold-water garret and, despite the friendly community around them, still long for a way out of the drudgery. Placing all their hopes in a lottery ticket, the couple fall into despair when they win but the ticket goes missing.
