アレクサンダー・ロックウッド

Alexander Lockwood was widely known for his acting on the big screen. Lockwood began his acting career in film, appearing in such titles as the crime feature "Just Off Broadway" (1942) with Lloyd Nolan, the Henry Fonda crime picture "The Wrong Man" (1956) and "The Invisible Boy" (1957) with Richard Eyer. He also appeared in "The Story of Mankind" (1957) and the sci-fi flick "Monster on the Campus" (1958) with Arthur Franz. He continued to work steadily in film throughout the fifties and the sixties, appearing in the Rock Hudson dramatic adaptation "The Tarnished Angels" (1958), the action flick "Edge of Eternity" (1959) with Cornel Wilde and the Cary Grant suspenseful mystery "North By Northwest" (1959). He also appeared in the dramatic adaptation "This Earth Is Mine" (1959) with Rock Hudson, "Beauty and the Beast" (1962) with Joyce Taylor and the dramatic adaptation "Walk on the Wild Side" (1962) with Laurence Harvey. Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in "The Monkey's Uncle" (1965) with Tommy Kirk, the mystery thriller "Family Plot" (1976) with Karen Black and "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" (1977). He also appeared in "Wholly Moses!" (1980) starring Dudley Moore and the Michael Ontkean drama "Making Love" (1982). He also was featured in the TV movie "Duel" (ABC, 1971). Lockwood last acted in the comedy adaptation "Romantic Comedy" (1983) with Dudley Moore. Lockwood passed away in January 1990 at the age of 88.
