Elyse Levesque began her acting career with a role on the Canadian children's series "Incredible Story Studio," which occasionally featured short episodes written and submitted by the audience. After the show ended in 2002, Levesque joined the cast of the sci-fi drama "2030 CE," about a post-apocalyptic world where young children are put through rigorous school and training to make up for a drastically shortened lifespan; she portrayed the cold and calculating Dr. Maxine Rich for several episodes of the short-lived series. After portraying the ailing Virginia Poe, wife of poet Edgar Allen Poe, in a well-received episode of the cable anthology "Masters of Horror," Levesque landed back-to-back guest roles on the TV superhero dramas "Flash Gordon" and "Smallville." She next played a young girl trapped in a prehistoric passage in the TV adaptation of the Jules Verne novel "Journey to the Center of the Earth" and was later cast as Chloe Armstrong in the militaristic sci-fi series "SGU Stargate Universe." She portrayed Armstrong, the headstrong daughter of a high-profile U.S. senator, for all three seasons of the award-winning series, which follows the mythology inspired by the 1994 feature film.
