German actor Guido Fohrweisser first grabbed the attention of audiences back in the 1970s when he performed as the singer of an in-your-face punk band named SpeedRush. That kind of aggressive showmanship was the perfect training ground for acting. Fohrweisser trained for performing on the stage and has acted in a number of revival plays, including "Cyrano de Bergerac," "Peer Gynt," and "King Lear." Stage training also demanded that the actor be proficient in sword fighting as well, an ability that has served him well for his many film and television roles. He started landing minor work in German television in the early 1980s, appearing on the popular cop show "Tatort" and later "A Case for Two." In the mid-1990s, he started popping up in American productions, such as the HBO drama "Crime of the Century," about the infamous Lindbergh kidnapping case, starring Stephen Rea and Isabella Rossellini. He later had a small role in another HBO production, "Gia," starring Angelina Jolie as the doomed fashion model. Fohrweisser has also had guest-starring roles on "The X-Files," "Martial Law," and in "James Dean," a television movie about the legendary actor. He can also be seen briefly in Quentin Tarantino's postmodern World War II movie "Inglourious Basterds" and in the stylish ultraviolent "Ninja Assassin."
