Steven Krueger moved from juvenile roles in television series and films like "Goosebumps" (2015) to more mature characters, including a recurring and eventual series regular turn as a malevolent vampire on "The Originals" (The CW, 2013-). Born in Appleton, Wisconsin, he was raised in the Milwaukee suburb of Brookfield, but moved to Sarasota, Florida with his mother and younger brother following his parents' divorce. A nascent interest in acting and performance - which he first exercised through his high school's speech and debate team - led to roles in school and local theater productions. After graduating from the University of Virginia, Krueger headed to Los Angeles, where he began landing guest roles on television series like "90210" (The CW, 2008-2013) and "The Middle" (ABC, 2009-2018). A recurring role on "Pretty Little Liars" (ABC Family/Freeform, 2010-17) set his career in motion, and Krueger was soon cast in more substantial roles on television and in the occasional feature, most notably as a high schooler in "Goosebumps" (2015), based on the popular young adult series of novels by R.L. Stine. In 2013, he joined the cast of "The Originals" in a recurring role as Josh Rosza, a henchman of the series' primary antagonist, Marcel Gerard (Charlie Michael Davis). Josh's sexual orientation - he was openly gay - drew media attention, which in turn led to Krueger joining the main cast of "The Originals" in its fifth season.
