Leona Roberts was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. Early on in her acting career, Roberts landed roles in various films, including the Cary Grant comedy "Bringing Up Baby" (1938), "Condemned Women" (1938) and the Ginger Rogers comedy adaptation "Having Wonderful Time" (1938). She also appeared in the drama "Kentucky" (1938) with Loretta Young, the Walter Huston drama "Of Human Hearts" (1938) and "The Affairs of Annabel" (1938). She continued to act in productions like "Bachelor Mother" (1939) with Ginger Rogers, the Vivien Leigh blockbuster dramatic adaptation "Gone With the Wind" (1939) and "Swanee River" (1939). She also appeared in "Abe Lincoln in Illinois" (1940), "Blondie Plays Cupid" (1940) and "Comin' Round the Mountain" (1940). Film continued to be her passion as she played roles in "Golden Gloves" (1940), the crime flick "Queen of the Mob" (1940) with Ralph Bellamy and the adaptation "The Blue Bird" (1940) with Shirley Temple Black. She also appeared in "Thou Shalt Not Kill" (1940), the crime picture "The Madonna's Secret" (1946) with Francis Lederer and "Boomerang" (1947) with Dana Andrews. Roberts more recently acted in the Alan Ladd crime feature "Chicago Deadline" (1949).
